Edinburgh or Dublin
Discussion
I've got a week off in November and am taking the other half away to mark the aniversary of our getting together. I'd like to mix in some photography amongst the eating and boozing, so I defer to the great fount of PH knowledge.
All things being equal, which would offer the better photo opportunities, Edinburgh or Dublin? Where's good to go with a camera in either, ideally with nearby pubs to keep the Mrs quiet? ;)
thanks for any advice - i better book it soon or i'll be lighter a couple of items from my lower body region... ;)

Well got to put some balance back on here as lived in Edinburgh for 5 years and would head there again in an instant. Head up Arthurs Seat for some fine views, shopping on and and around Princes St for your wife, lunch on Victoria St (Grain Store was great if it's still there) - more wandering in the afternoon around Grassmarket and the Old town then Dinner at The Witchery. If you have a few days up there and transport then head south out to the Borders (some great driving roads too) and visit Kelso and Melrose.
Dublin on both occasions when I have been was quite fun but slightly heavy on the stag weekend crowd to be a romantic weekend getaway.
LA shame on you sir

Thanks for the advice guys. I've booked in "the westbury" as I refuse to line the pockets of the already rich popstar Bono by staying in the Clarence... it was fully booked ![]()
all I need to do now is prepare myself to consume horrendous quantities of guiness!
The Westbury is an excellent hotel, stay there myself when in Dublin.
Very well situated in the heart of it all.

Have a Mojhito while you're there. A regular haunt of ours as the girls love their cocktails. Bono didn't get your money, but 4 of the richest businessmen in the country will
. All you need to do to stay away from the stag parties is to avoid the horrendously tourist Temple Bar, except for the pub called The Temple Bar or the Porter House, avoid the rest.
If you want any ideas for photo locations give me a shout. I'm a crap photographer, but name what you want and I'll give you a few ideas.
