I am looking for a good compact pod. Idealy one that folds to 30 odd cm long so I can strap it to my bag for travel and one thats light and sturdy.

Any ideas, are there any must haves. I used to have a manfrotto carbon one, but never used it as it was a bit too big to "just bring incase". I have seen the mini ones with pull out silver legs in currys but they seem a bit flimsy.

Will spend up to 100 big ones.

Thanks gents.

Velbon Ultra Luxi F or SF might suit you, theyre a bit sturdier than the Ultra Maxi series.

Velbon CX Mini is a tiddler, £22. You can't really have ultra-lightweight and robust/sturdy though!

It's cute, but doesn't go up very high. The tilt (sideways) action of the head is rather flimsy and don't expect it to stay up in a strong wind. It's lightweight and inexpensive though; as I say you can't really have it both ways.

The velbon mini cx Looks good for a tiddler one.

Although the Ultra luxi seems to be the business really.

Thx for the advice guys.
