Ditto. Light coming through the trees on the right is great though.

AH!

Thanks guys.

Yes - I see that now. It's a bit of a Pete and Dud. "You're right leg is fine, I have nothing against you're right leg. Unfortunately neither do you."

How about a crop. Chop it down the middle and keep the right hand side. Too good to abandon.

Alright we'll compromise. Cut out the bottom left corner and keep the rest.

To an ignorant passer-by I think thats an awesome picture! I also like the bit in shade, I think it makes a positive contrast.

To be fair, as an amateur I think it's a great shot. If I achieved results like that, i'd be very pleased with myself.

What camera and lens/filter etc are you using?

What it needs is a pre-raphaelite maiden in the sunbeam, head contrapposto gazing wistfully towards the light. You should be able to rent those pre-raphaelite maidens, they would be damn useful in moody photos!

Anyway, I reckon there's an Ikea poster in there just waiting to get out! Just pop an aluminium frame around it.

I have just had a thought. Wouldn't it be great if there were something hiding in the shadow area instead? Or maybe I have been watching too many "Most Haunted" episodes

Apologies, I do usually try and remember to include the info.

In this case: Nikon D70, 85mm lens at F4.0, 1/1500th at ISO 200.

More detail: I'm generally a member of the AFB (Anti-Filter Brigade) anyway, so nothing got in between light and lens. The image, as usual was taken RAW, I have my WB set to the "cloudy" setting (by default if I have not preset it for the conditions, as I always carry a grey card) and then I adjust if necessary on conversion. In this case I squeezed out what little colour there was, by changing the saturation level, to - well, almost nothing, just leaving a natural toned effect.

I posted a shot taken a few minutes earlier (swan reflecting on misty water) on the "November" thread which looks naturally gold/sepia and that was not manipulated at all as far as colour/saturation to give you a clue on this one!!#

Oops sorry! Hope that wasn't too
