The only thing that put me off buying this camera is the fact that it runs on AA batteries.
Camera's that run on normal batteries are probably OK for occasional users, but if you're even a moderate user, you'll spend so much on batteries (or multiple sets of rechargeables) that you'd be better off spending a few quid more and getting a camera that runs on a Li-Ion battery in the first place.
As a rough guide, my old minolta (ran on 4 AA batteries) used to manage about 20 shots using the screen before the batteries died

My canon a70 runs on 4 aa batteries but i found with some 2400mAh rechargeables lasts weeks and will fill a 256mb card without recharging them.
This camera is for for Mrs B Bear for xmas so has to be quite small to fit in the handbag etc.
From the other threads the only suggestions i can find are any Canon, or maybe look at less megapixels with more features.
Anyone got a camera like this that they're happy with, would recommend?
