I had similar issues with my beach shots this afternoon. Beautiful sunset across the water. Back within 10mins with the camera and i'd missed the best of it!

As I'm looking at delving into the whole photo thingy-ma-jiggy, could I ask a question? Is the first photo heavily PS'd? The brown hill in the foreground looks nearly "stuck on" to me and the rest seems very blue. Is that the photo or is it edited? Just curious.

slight saturation tweak, slight contrast and level tweak . . .

All I can say is . . . it's not dissimilar to what the image looked like to me when I took it . . . ;-)
