.....so I thought I might try out some B&W photography with my girlfriend.... I hope you like the result. Needs a bit of work since I edited it in about 5 minutes and I want to pay more attention to the detail but let me know what you think for now and i'll put the final version on once I have time to play with the photo.

Good starting point but I'd like to see her eye more open, and a different colour, maybe blue.

I thought the same about the more open eye......however I wanted to emphasize the original eye colour. It's amazing how different it looks when the rest of the photo is B&W, but i'll definately give it a go!

Here's the very first one I did quite a while back....quite a tough shot since it was my eye and I was holding the camera with my hand while taking the photo!!!

Sure! It's probably gobbling up my bandwidth too

You've got the depth of field right. Try shooting from a little higher up so she's looking up at you rather than looking down her nose that should help raise her upper eyelid a bit too.

Did some more experimenting last night but couldn't get the lighting right this time. I actually took the last photo with candlelight which probably gives it a very warm feel.

I'll try again tonight, plus I'll see if I can get that final version completed!!

Cheers for your comments though!
