Ive snagged a cheap bulletcam for my trackdays, I just need a camcorder now that can take an AV input, Ive tried hunting around but the shop assistants are clueless on the whole.

Ideally I want tapes, as chips are too small, and discs are not stable.

and it might as well be cheap.
A hard disc recorder might work too, but these seem pretty new technology and priced accordingly.

Any suggestions?

Any DV tape camcorder with the yellow analogue input (AV) will be fine.

Most of the Sony models with analogue in have 'E' after the number.

I use the Sony TRV33E with my bullet.

There is an official Canon outlet on eBay, they sell refurbished ones. I got mine from there almost 2 years ago, and so far it's been fine. With Canons, you will need one with an 'i' in the model name.
