Off the WE Christmas mailshot:

www.warehouseexpress.com/?/photo/zigview/zigview.html?emailcode=WEX009

Motion detect shutter trigger but also has an interval timer (oooooooh), interesting options opened up there perhaps.
Which of the gizmo kings will be first with the timelapse.....?

I've had my interval timer for some time now You really can make some nice hi-res movies with it. The demise of the Christmas tree anyone?

Had a play with the motion sensing one at the recent Nikon thingy at Olympia. Very clever and great fun - almost bought one until rex pointed out that we actually have NO requirement for one, even though it was very shiny and clever (my usual criteria for puchases !!!)

Bet if you had one you could be creative enough to use it all the time - might even need 2!

Since when did that ever stop anyone on here???

I've had my eye on the standard one but didn't want to spend the money on just a right angled viewer, the extra bits might just tip the scales...

I'd like the standard Zigview for tripod work, but at £115 it seems a lot. Also, the Nikon DR-6 right-angle finder is probably techincally better (optical rather than having a camera that breaks things into pixels); it just doesn't look as cool. I too saw the posh Zigview with motion detection and shutter release at Nikon Expo but at £199 that's too much for a Chinese-style gadget that looks like it's worth £35.

So for toys I'll content myself with the MC-30 corded release, as the D200 doesn't have a simple IR remote.

...and I just HAVE to have the gizmo R.

We are intending to build a 'hide' up north when we move in and this is the perfect way to get 'movement sensor' pics of the wildlife that trolls past the window.

Ta for the link... although the accountant/bank manager/customs & excise will all hate you.

I have a sound sensitive shutter release that can be adjust to trigger at any sound level.
It has been used sucessfully to take pics of people at a clay pidgeon shoot shoot.

Could be fun to use at a trackday but yet to try that!
("shoot shoot" haha!)

It would be more or less trivial to make a PIR (like burgler alarm / security light) based motion sensing trigger . . . nikon (for example) even do a release cable that terminates in 4mm banana plugs that make integrating with the camera simple . . . cost - I'd expect < 20 quid . . . excluding the expensive bit - the camera cable . . .
