Any D50 owners there?
Discussion
I have just spent 4 days in stockholm and did not take the D70 as my boss has just bought a D50 (kit 18-55) and asked if I could give him a briefing and a few lessons on using it.
He cleverly did not bring the manual and I found the camera set to full frame meteringwhen I got my hands on it.
Now I tried everything and every button for about an hour to try and find a way to change this to center weighted or partial as it was over exposing most shots on the full frame metering.
I could not find the way of doing it and just want to know out of interest more than anything else.
On a comparison note, I found it felt very similay physically and shot the same but I did really miss not having the roller knobs front and back. (thumb and finger) There is just the one for the thumb and I found it harder to quickly adjust the settings when a shot was over/under exposed etc.
All in all it is a cracking camera for the money but I think for the added versitility and functionability, the 70(s) is worth the extra dosh.

ps. We did however get some superb shots that I will hopefully be able to show you soon.

Mr Noble said:[thick mode]So how do you control aperture then?

[/thick mode] [Whatdyameanyoudidn'tnoticeanydifference!!!]I meant that there is only the one (thumb) wheel and not 2.
I searched through the menu's for ages and could not find the metering adjustment one. There are far fewer menus on the D50, much simpler.
I found the AF-S and AF-C menu but not the metering one.
Unfortunatly don't have the camera here anymore to check, I just hope my boss works it all out.
Thanks.

The empirical way is just to dial in -EV until it's correct!
If you can find the EV control, that is
