carl zeiss lens for everyone?

Mainstream SLR is a big market there missing out on, wonder how their deal with sony will wok.

The question seems to be, will they make them for Canon or Nikon ? I've experienced Nikon, Pentax, Rodenstock and now Zeiss lenses through wearing spectacles. The Zeiss lenses are miles better than all the others and are the only ones to give a strong 3-dimensional feel to what I'm looking at. If Zeiss are going to manufacture camera lenses in Nikon mounts then I can see me getting rid of my Canons !

Well I've seen through Nikon spectacle glass (high refractive index stuff) for more cares than I year to mention....


...that came out a bit dumb, and I haven't even had a drink yet, this week

As for camera lenses, I've used Pentax, Vivitar, Tamron, Cosina, Canon, Nikon, Rodenstock (in an enlarger), Fuji, Zenit and Kiev. But Zeiss is in the Sony that Mrs Beano has, and given the limitations of a compact it's good stuff! Although I thought my Pentax was good, I have to say it would have to be something special to make me consider anything other than Nikon these days. Zeiss could be the one.....

So how long before this news is out????

? You can already mount Zeiss lenses on your Canon via an adaptor, along with Leitz or even Nikkor lenses. The beauty of the large Canon mount means the choice of 4 lens manufacturers... the best of 4 worlds.
