Brothers son, learning that Christmas TV is not as interesting as my old toy cars ;-)

Playing with ISO 3200 on the D2X . . .

Fergus

That's a spooky bit of the D2X I haven't visited yet.

Looks pretty good - you haven't put it through noise ninja have you?

It's been through neat image . . . ISO 800 is much, much cleaner and probably as high as I would go normally but I hate flash (and don't have one either) and 800 was too slow to handhold against a moving kid . . . so HI2 was selected . . .

I always think that in the old days when I used to push process monochrome films to 3200 ISO they were grainy as hell and that's why I did it . . . so I don't mind grain . . . but high ISO digital noise is not as nice as grain . . . I should monochrome it and grain it - then it would look what it's supposed to look like (and was my thought throughout the day) . . .

Fd

Edited to day - here's the unprocessed image . . . no conversion/sharpening/noise reduction - just a white balance change . . .

Went for a walk after dinner in the mountains behind my house. This goat was looking rather nervous...I think it thought we wanted a change from turkey!

Why is it they turn out red when you use to flash? Any way around it?
