Maybe interested in blowing some of my bonus on a half-decent digi SLR; these are 5MP but non-interchangeable lens.
Any thoughts... or recommendations (and I don't mean 'spend £1000!')...

The main advantage of an SLR is the ability to change lens. Whats your budget? You could pick up a 300D from as little as a couple of hundred quid.

I trawled ebay and got a Canon D10, lots of people upgrade to keep in with the newest toys. That leaves the old toys needing good homes

Yeah I know: I suppose I'm really just looking for the ability to focus closer than my poxy 3MP fixed-focus thing when taking techie pictures of stuff eg for my website.
For 'serious' arty stuff I'd get my Olympus OM film camera out (not that I can remember where I left it...!)

OK, for a number of reasons I have modified my requirements; now looking at these two:

www.praktica.de/CMSFiles/336.pdf

www.polaroid-digital.com/site.php?cid=13&serid=16&lid=1&pid=36&serid=16

The Praktica is £20 more but has 8x, rather than 3x optical zoom, although it claims only 4.2MP rather than the 6.1 of the Polaroid!

Oo, decisions, decisions...

I can get either at Argos and I have £65-worth of their gift vouchers and Nectar points to use... so for around a ton I can get a much better camera than the one I have (which may well end up on Ebay!)...
