I got the CS book by Scott Kelby and a Nikon 60mm f2.8 Micro.
Only downer is that I had to buy them both for myself as the family put a £10 spend limit on all gifts!!
Shots to follow with the new lens soon.
(once I have figured out raw shooter, bought a wacom tablet and read the book
)

Zigview R with motion sensor for Mrs Get - I might just have to nick it sometimes
And after many hours of reading reviews, the 8mp Canon S80 compact - from me to me to keep in the glove box, because, as we all know; the best camera in the world... is the one you have with you.
Got it in the sales, so will post a pic when it arrives.

Steve, saw your thread about the motion cap and it looks good for that but how is it as an alternative viewfinder?
Usable as a pseudo waistlevel one?
Any plans for time lapse?
I have to say the alternative viewfinder is 'adequate' - it ain't subtle, but will let you see everything you need - just think VHS v DVD and you'll be close.
Motion capture was the main reason for purchase, but we are thinking of using the time lapse to check out whether the workmen building the house are actually doing any work!
Steve
edited to add: If anyone is thinking of buying the Zigview R: to get the shutter to work from the Zig, your camera must have an external shutter release capability (a hole for a cable to the body of the camera).

Ive got a super Camera Bag for My Birthday which will be on the 1st (chose it today) and some lens cleaning stuff and a lens case.
Its funny how excited you get over buying things for your photo passion. needless to say it wont help one iota with my pics, but boy will I look cool strutting my stuff on the wet and windy Downs, lugging ALL my kit, tripod, mono pods and dog.
Fantastic - cant wait.

never got any photo toys for xmas. 24-105 should come mid january though
I got my 24-105 early (mid-December). It hasn't had much use yet but I'd say it's significantly sharper than my 28-135.
Not strictly a present as I still haven't got the cash from Mrs CB yet...
I ordered mine from a non pro dealer at a cost of £549 so I am willing to wait for it lol
