I bet you were like a kid in a sweet shop with your access all areas pass!

Nice pic, love how neatly lined up they all are.

Hmm.

Up until 1974 Tyrrell, top team at the time, ran with this and a Transit and trailer when taking a third car.

In '74 or '75 a second 2-car rigid truck was added since the old bus chassis was getting on a bit. The Transit became a reserve for promotional trailering and various odds and sods.

And as I read the other day when glancing through the comments on the Keith Duckworth rememberance message pages, the DFV cost £7,500 when it was introduced and a grand for a rebuild. New ones were still under £12,500 by 1974 or 1975.

Still, that was then and this is now. But you can understand how Paul Stoddart reached the estimate of a £1.5 BILLION loss in 2006 for F1.

I suppose they just have to have more kit than anyone else ...

That's Bernie at work.

He apparantly insists that the trucks are parked perfectly straight & in line. They have to be washed in situ as well (including the roof, so the Paddock Club members have a nice view!)

And IIRC, most teams jack up the trucks and rotate the wheels manually so that the tyre logos are at 12 o'clock!

He really is a silly sod, that man.
