Hey guys

Im pretty keen on photography and filming various stuff and the one thing I would like to do sometime soon is some in-car footage.

At the moment, I only have 1 camcorder and 1 digital camera.
I tried to mount my camcorder on my dashboard as a cheap'n'cheerful way of filming some play time drives, but the industrial type velcro I got just refuses to stick to my dashboard (I know its a daft idea, but best I can do for now)

So Ive began scouting about looking for prices on bullet cams and mounts and was wondering if you guys know of any places that do good prices on stuff like that?

There's a topic at the bottom of the page for mounts! here.

Search not working at the moment for the bullet cams. Google should have some answers though .

I bought a suck-on mount from Maplins for about £6 - it's blinding and would hold a palmcorder let alone a bullet cam.

As for bullet cameras, there's a few on eBay (just make sure it's a proper CCD chip from a decent manufacturer like SONY or Sharp).

You also need to make sure your recording device has analogue in capability.

I'm sure others will be along shortly to suggest further...

been mention loads of times if you do a search.

Basically b-hague for the mounts and RF Concepts for the Bullet Cams

Might be worth chatting to Dave at Fast Films. I believe he's taking stock of some higher resolution bullet cams than those available at RF. Same sort of price too.

They're incredibly strong, but for anything with hard driving / longer than 5 minutes I'd prefer something a little more solid - perfect for bullet cams though. Fast Films have a 95mm suction mount for £24. Small footprint (meaning lots of placement options) and rated to 3kg!

£kgs is pretty hefty in comparison to the weight of most modern digital cameras so Im guessing it should take quite a load in the corners too!

I dont intend to do hard driving as I have 60 walls on my tyres and I have a feeling the 1600kg of sideways action at 30-40mph may just peel the rubber off

Either that or leave a hefty brown stripe on my grey trim

Apologies for the late reply.

Yes, it probably would although bear in mind that the 'dynamic' load on the mount is massively more when the vehicle is moving than the 'static' load when stationary.

I'd trust it to a small digital still camera or a *very* light DV style cam but that's it. Also, if you were gonna mount a decent cam on it, I'd want it where I could see it, so if it started to slip you could stop before it fell off. I plan to get a bullet cam and do some video with is mounted on the RS 500 - time stops me ATM unfortunately. It was £6 though and for that price, given how well it works, it's a steal.
