Hi all,

Got an HP 385 just after Christmas but haven't had a chance to unbox it yet. Was considering changing it for a model that does bigger than 10x15cm pics.

The HP 475 seems to have a bigger slot - when my wife was in the shop she said it did bigger pics on the box, but the Faeces World website still says 10x15cm. HP site says it does panoramic ones and 13x18cm

So - which is right? Assuming the HP website is! Is it worth trading up for a bit extra?

I'd trade up to something that does A4.

Dunno but A4 has to better that postcard-size. You can even get 4 small images onto one sheet!

I have an HP which is fine for me but ink is £££. Epson R300 always seems to do well. Canon do well too. However for serious printing I use PhotoBox etc so I don't get too anoraky about it.

Where in the world? Faeces world!

Ditto the R300, under 100 squids and you can plug your memory card straight in to print.

Not that I have one, I use photobox too. Currently have pics all over the house and still about £40 quid up on if I'd bought a printer.

Seen one in action though, if I was going to buy I'd start with an R300.

For photo printers I much prefer dye-sub printers over inkjet. I have a Sony DPP-FP30, and despite bad reviews about its resolution, I've found that it has given better color than any other photo printer we have at work, except the newer DPP-FP50, and the newer DPP-FP50 has the clearest shots out of all of the printers as well. I give my vote for dye-subs...

Got to say that mine was £80 well spent, even if it does gobble up ink at a goodly rate. Easy to get on with, unless your wants are for bigger or specific quality or colour management issues, you can't go far wrong. Believe there's now a 320 which is a little shuffle better (i.e. no giant leap forward anywhere) and you'll notice the difference in spending a little on quality papers ...
