One idea I've had for my local gift shop is to offer flower photos stuck to a solid wood backing about 1/2" thick. Flush edges (I have a disc sander), no mount or frame so fairly easy to do.

The only part I'm not quite sure about is how to stick the photo on so it's perfectly flat and won't lift at the edges. Can you get stuff like double-sided tape but in sheets? I know there's iron-on film for veneers but I think the heat wouldn't do the photo any good.

Dry mount photo first then stick the (very thin) board onto the wood? Framers will dry mount - pretty cheap.

Something like this?

A google search for "Photo Dry Mount Spray" should give you some more options.
