I covered a modified car club RR day recently words and photos by me. Its a Scottish only mag but its a start. getting a feature car to photograph too.

Is this in F+M? I was going to be covering all their events north of Dundee (editorial, not photos).
They approached me via a friend in the trade and asked me to do it. I sent them info and they didn't get back to me. Sent it again and again they didn't reply. They approached my friend asking if I was still interested and so it went on until I just gave up! Modified stuff's not my cup of tea but the money was ok and it was a case of getting my name out there.

::edited:: I've just read it - hope that's not the finished article as there's punctuation errors in it and spelling errors too! (just to warn you before you send it in)
