hey everyone,

today (ok, so actually it was yesterday, but i am running on student time) was the first uni motorclub field autotest, and it was infact the first time i have used the D70 on a 4 wheeled subject. i would really like your opinions on some of my favourites:

Hi Chris thanks for posting these.
for me the best by far is the Seven all crossed up. I love the idea that the front wheels, the angle of the car itself and the crew's line of sight are three different directions and the pic makes me want to know whether they made it round the next cone.

The danger with your choice of subject in the others is that there is very little to link the picture with sport - so it risks ending up being dirty cars in a field.

Like the idea of the dirty metro and the wheelspin one, and it's great that you have got in so close compared to the pics I get at circuits!

thanks for your reply.
unfortunately i forgot my tripod (one of those occasions where you stand around for ages thinking "i know i am meant to be bringing something else, but i have no idea what". so most of the action shots arent as clear as they could have been.

Nice work ... I too would have liked to have seen some wider shots - perhaps with more than one car?

the problem with the insurance we have to get is that only one car can compete at any one time, which makes it hard to get any very interesting action shots.

Heh ;-) Autotests are great fun, We have an old clunker we use to compete in (the caterham is not really set up for reversing) . . . we were at one in Dunfries the other week here

Now - this is going the opposite way from Mr Get's request - Closer and tighter, IMHO the people are the interesting thing . . . there's even a couple of me in there (what you can't see / low key) !

If you ever get the chance/time to try one - do it, a whole day's competition and total mechanical hooliganism for a tenner . . . ;-)

Will be doing another at the end of the month, when I get back from snowy Colorado (jetlag means up hungover and early but no alcohol consumed) ;-)

i find your pics quite interesting. they are very obviously about the people and not the cars.

one question about the website:
why does each picture load up in about 30 segments?
