As a newbie to digital I shot some pictures in Raw format which are .nef files I think from the Nikon. However Photoshop CS2 can't read them. The Bridge program is displaying them but if I try and open them Photoshop says something to the effect that it doesn't recognise the file type.
Do I need a plug in or something and if so where do you get them from.

www.adobe.com and poke around a bit!

Hmm, although www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html says 'Support for the following cameras is included in Photoshop CS2... D50'.

Duh.

www.pixmantec.com/

You need this. Although CS"2" should have a raw converter on it. There should otherwise be a download on the adobe site to get it. I think it caused some PC's to crash when included with the pack but don't quote me on that.

Raw shooter is great for bulk processing and corrections.

What bridge program are you talking about? Total guess, but is the bridge program trying to output something that CS2 doesn't recognise?

If this is the case then simply ditch the other program and open the raw file direct in CS2, this should work...

You need to download the latest version of Camera Raw from the adobe website - version 3.3 I think
