Can anyone advise the best way to photograph a marine fish tank ? Mine has 2x 150W halogen bulbs which kick out a lot of light. With my little Sony DSC-V1,I am struggling with reflection and presumably shutter speed as the fish are blurring.
Anything simple I can do other than buying some decent kit.
Thanks

How big is the tank? If it's very large you can...

...climb in

Use a polarising filter, make sur the flash is switched on and don't hold the camera at right angles to the glass...making sure the flash doesn't bounce straight back at the lens.
Let us know how that works

Martin.

Thanks Martin,
I have an old polarising filter so will give that a try.
As for simpo two, hmm tank is pretty big. Well big enough to dismember a body and use it as fish food.

If you get a hold of a rubber lens hood which screws onto the filter thread, you can seal this against the side of the tank to eliminate the reflections. An off camera flash would then also help ensure a good alternative light angle.

The blurring may not be shutter speed related, you could be focussing on the reflections rather than the fish.
