Ok so I am going to be taking a few pictures of this Italian girl as a B/day pressie for my Dad.
Here is a test shot taken at the weekend. This will be the likely location.

Things that will be done for the actual photos.
a) car will be washed and waxed, it was just back from service MOT etc and the opportunity for a bath had not arisen
b) some of the offensive bush will be trimmed back (on the bottom left of pic) as will some of the tree obscuring the background view
c)I can arrange for some lighting to be present, nothing fancy mind. Was actually thinking about a couple of coloured stage lights (green, yellow or red).

Any advice on how to get this looking great would be appreciated. Results will of course be put up.

An excellent start!

I haven't tried this kind of thing so can't comment (sensibly) but I wonder what effect red and green lights will have on the poor girl's complexion...?

simpo two,

i am glad you noticed the childish humour. It is all i can do to keep myself sane today. 4 days of illness and being housebound are driving me crazy.

the thinking behind the coloured lights was that when we tried lighting it with normal lights it just looked...like a car was behind it.
I remember seeing an intro to the world cup italia 90 where they used a pseudo ferrari and traced Italian flag colours over it creating an interesting look, thought it might be worth experimenting.

How about bouncing the lights off some white card, which should diffuse it and reduce the headlight effect.
