I know they are only 512MB, and yes they not mega quick, but what do you want for less than £17?

Hmmm don't know about the Kingston product but I wonder if this would be false economy. I mean after spending £000's on your gear why save £10 or so when you could have a Lexar and its reliability (IMHO)

I don't think Lexar would be measurably more reliable than Kingston, when you pay more for CF cards you are paying for speed, not reliability.

Thumbs up for Kingston!
Mines been throught the washing machine and no ill effects.
So has an 8x lexar.

That's a slow one listed there, the SLC elite pro is better (42quid 1GB) but they have a new super dooper one called ultimate (1Gb for about 55 quid on ebay).

Personally I would go for a known reliable product, interestingly looking in the dabs site the Lexar i was referring to has a write speed of 8x...guess that could be a typo. Surely there must be an analogy about putting unknown brand tyres on a performance car as opposed to Pirellis, Bridgestones etc, yes you can save money, yes they will go round but at the end of the day would you be happy doing xxx mph on an unknown brand of tyre....just my 2pennyworth
(Having used Lexar and last year shot 14000+ images without a hiccup)

I can't belive people are saying Kingston is not a major manufacturer.

Kingston are HUGE and I would have no problem buying and installing any of their products.
When my company were building and sending servers to remote parts of the world, the only memory considered was Compaq or kingston and I've never had to replace a single stick of Kingston memory in about 14 years (many hundreds installed) but a fair few Compaq.

As I discovered to my pleasant surprise, Lexar Pro cards have a 5-year warranty. I sent off my dead 40x card and got a new 80x one by return.

For added peace of mind, every Kingston CompactFlash Ultimate card is backed by a lifetime warranty, 24/7 live technical support and the legendary reliability that has made Kingston the leader in memory.

Talk about badge snobbery

Kingston have been in the memory game for yonks. I'd certainly trust their products.

My wife uses and abuses Kingston cards having taken thousands of pictures over the last few years on many cards of many sizes ..... and they seem just as good as Lexar or Sandisk. No one manufacturers cards have been better or worse for her - and as I say, she takes a good few pictures on a daily basis.
