Hi,

I'm new to the Photography section of PH, and thought I'd post a couple of my pictures to introduce myself.

I'm new to the whole Photoshop thing as well (I know - where have I been?) but it is installed on my machine, and I'm currently learning how to use it.

Please comment on the photos - if you have any modifications that I could try in Photoshop please tell me!

'Wild Water' - taken at Whitehills, nr. Banff, Inverness-shire, Scotland.

'Moody Sky O'er Lithgae Palace' - taken by the Loch, Linlithgow, nr. Edinburgh, Scotland.

Hope you like them!

Hmm, Blown out, mushy, disorganised poor definition and small. The waves I mean. Shots fine.

Like the top one very much.
(For the record, whitehills is in Aberdeenshre, formerly in Banffshire - sorry, pedant and my part of the world)

Also like the bottom one but it looks a little soft to me, maybe a sharpen or USM would do it some good?

Anyway, keep 'em coming!

Hi Iain

Welcome to the dusty corner of PH

I like the top one. IMHO it needs cropping a bit tighter. If the rocks bottom and right are going to be there... they need to BE there... at the moment they are a little distracting. Maybe just me but I usually don't like things falling off the edge of landscape photos.

Also cropped closer (for me) makes the wild even wilder.
