WARNING CONTAINS LOTS OF PICS
Ashbourne battoning down the hatches
Getting ready for the start
5 mins after the start
Wrong place, wrong time
So near and yet so far
Birds eye view
Time out
Poor picture, but this guy took a swing and ended up cutting a lads face
The ball takes to the road
Feel sorry for this persons house...
Quick... run away

Hold on a sec, great pics and all, but WTF is going on? Is it a fight or something? Why did the town batton itself down? What were kids doing there? It nearly looks like Dublin last Saturday!
Is whats going on a good thing or a bad thing?

Tradition goes back to medieval times

Hehe.
I guess the game probably worked worked more effectively when the population was smaller ...
Unless of course the history is similar to that of Dwile Flonking which apparently generated a lot of history at the time it was invented.
Just browsing the shots - you could turn some of them into a 'Where's Wally'type of series. Spot the person without a camera would be a place to start.
Hats off to you though Mrs. F. Some of the people you were close to when taking the shots were probably better met in bright sunshine in a crowd than they would be if met in a dark lane at night. I guess the game will attract all sorts.
