Was playing at Brands last week and having a bash at this after some dabbling last year, best I got was:

Shame about the trackside furniture/fixtures but I do like the converging lines.

How do you guys get so close to the track? What kind of passes do you need?

Nice pics by the way!

The pics from poah are from Knockhill in Scotland, and you just walk up to the barriers . . . a very accessable track . . .

Hank, like the Fezz shot, storming past the black car on a tighter line with the him trying in vain to keep up.

Thanks!

Those two are from public bits of Brands Hatch (inside Surtees).
I don't recall the the Ferrari being particularly speedy but it does seem to be a bit of a leaner:

You move the camera horizontaly in time with the car you want in focus, its in effect stationary with respect to the 'film' and everything else is moving so appears blured, usualy 1/60th second or so is about right.

That looks very much like a model. Nice shot though.

Interesting, its certainly a different version of spot colour. Your technique is good but I'm not sure it suits this subject though as it says to me, "Here's a picture of my car that I've stuck on a picture of a racetrack to make it look like I'm a racing driver" . I think the technique might work better putting people, animal or objects into context against suitable but different backgrounds from that which they were originally on. I was thinking of putting a car on track against a garage or something and found a snap of the pits at Goodwood - I have some of cars that I took on the same day but they were all in dull colours which didn't work as well so I've borrowed yours...

even on race days knockhill is amazing for spectators. on hot hatch/hot marques days you can stand at the pit wall
