Whilst I have loads of photos of my weekend car, I realise that I've got no video footage of it! What I'd like to do is get some in car shots whilst driving, but don't know a) how to mount the camera in the car and b) the legality of it.

Any suggestions?

Should be legal for road use anywhere in your car as long as it doesn't obstruct operation of any of the controls or hinder your vision at all (so you can probably stick one anywhere on the rear screen of your particular car !). Some track day organisers won't let you use one unless its put on a permanent mount such as one built on to a roll cage, others will be happy with the sucker type mounts as long as they aren't going to break free on the move.

Bullet cameras such as dogcam are another solution if you have an AV-in socket on your camcorder.
