I was wondering if anyone has made a "cheap" car rig to get these sort of shots?? I have been thinking about attempting to make a "ghetto" setup somehow mounting a boom on the jack point but have run out of ideas.....

Any help?

That particular shot looks faked to me.

In any case, I reckon you'd have real problems building your own rig that extended so far out from the body - it would have to be very well braced to prevent the camera from wobbling loads.

Plus you'd have to photoshop out the rig as well - if you are going to go to those lengths, you might as well take a static shot of the car and then make it look like it's moving!

Pic above is photoshopped to hell. (Motion blur madness)

Matt knows more about rigs than any here I think.

He'll probably be along to chip in.

the manfrotto cups are around £70 each x3 plus metal pipes and somthing for the camera to go on. I've seen people strap tripods onto cars. I've got the B-Hauge twinmount. its not bad but does not get out far enough.

only used it once lol
