Likewise, I only have one, and it too is a 50mm f1.8. And it's great.

I have two primes; 50/1.4 and a 200/2.8 and they are my two favourite lenses.

If I had to choose just one it would have to be the 50 mm as I get more use out of it.

What would you use that for? I don't mean the size, I mean the f-stop - surely most of the things you'd want to photograph with a wide-angle, you also want to retain more depth of field than that, thus negating the extra cost of going for such a big aperture?

Low light would seem to be the answer to this - that's the only real reason I got the 50mm 1.8 - saves you going to ISO 1600 all the time!

Plus on most digital bodies 28mm is 43mm and not really that wide.

It would have to be a 28mm with a lovely large maximum aperture.

That is only because of the work I do. Wouldn't be such a good choice for my portrait work

I got it cos it was cheap on ebay...

I've only had it for a couple of days, and I'm still experimenting...

I like my 24mm lens best but it would be a bit limiting. 135mm is probably my second favourite length followed closely by 70mm.

Don't you know?

It's a lens that can only be divided by 1 or itself!

Good indoors when space is tight and light is low. I have a 17-35mm f2.8 for this reason.

Oh, and another Canon 50mm f1.8 here too. Superb lens!
