Canon 5D - the price is (nearly) right
Discussion
I've been waiting for £1,500, but £1,600 is near enough. Ordered from the Digital Camera Co (www.digital-cameras.com/digital-cameras/canon-eos-5d-body.html), with £200 cash-back from Canon
Please Mr post-man...
This is the exact move I made a couple of weeks ago
Two warnings; firstly, the sensor attracts dust unlike any other camera (read: buy a sensor sweep), and secondly, as strange as it sounds the 5D really highlights any imperfections in your glass. I borrowed a friends Sigma 50-500 ('Bigma') and discovered the images to be quiet flat - lifeless. The tones in the images taken with his Canon 100-400L were hugely improved.
I'd like to post samples but a serious case of brain fade resulted in me deleting them from my card before I'd had chance to put a copy on my computer.

Andy M said:Jeez, you are not kidding - I have used the 5D on just one 4-day trip to Croatia since new and it's in at Fixation for a cleaning.

I did pick up a very informative leaflet they have produced describing why some DSLR's (especially full-frame) suffer from dust and what you can do to avoid or at least minimize it
