Evening folks..

We finished of our 2nd race car for this season at the weekend, so I rattled off a few shots with the good lady's Fuji S3500..

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to make these into works of art! My p'shop'ing skills are somewhat limited (although I can knock together a mean bit of spot colour!) so I'm struggling with what to do to make these look... special..

Out of the 45 shots I took, I've chosen these two for your delictation!

I'm no expert, as you can tell but...

Briefly:

1 Crop and twist
2 Brightness/contrast on whole image
3 Knock back sky 'til happy with clouds/tree/horizon using brush set on softlight setting @ 20%ish and build up gradually
4 Magic-wand on wing and struts and inverse selection then clone clouds across shot careful not to repeat cloud pattern
5 Darken and clone grass using soft-light brush and graduation tool
6 Add 10% Saturation and 38% unsharp mask
7 Add seasoning and garnish

I didn't use layers as I kinda knew what I wanted, but layering each step can mean more control through the process and enables you to go back and alter each stage.

Yup! Good one fergusd

I tried a few different versions, but decided slinky's images are a bit restrictive... the particular composition, the acute shape of the dragster itself, and the lack of any block colour to work with.

So this is what I ended up with
