Didnt know whether to focus on the bit of bodywork lying on the track or pan with the car but overall this gave the best result IMO

This driver went off at Surtees with a blown tyre

Hi

I'm no expert in this line of pics so all IMHO!

Some good stuff there...

First up, I'd get your own webspace to show these, so you can determine size and have no ads!

I'd never post a pic of a car with a fence in front of it (unless I was trying to be arty). This is, of course, a real pain... but it does mark out the amateur from the pro.

I love the dof (out of foucs/swift) stuff, but think the cars should be pin sharp to really make it work.

Keep up the good work.

Oh and I like the way they appear on this site... with a thumb

Cheers for the comment, yeah the fence is a real pain but IT IS part of motorsport these days and trying to use it to your advantage is hard but im sure I will get there. I am hoping to get my photos up on their own dedicated site soon but my final year dissertation is limiting my amount of free time.

Best wishes

Matthew

Good luck with the dissertation

BTW - Fences are only part of motorsport if you are on the wrong side of them!

Sadly, unless I beat up and mug someone with a press pass, my chances of being on the otherside are slim. Have you got a press pass? If so, send me a picture of yourself and I will keep my eyes out for you at my next racing event. Now, where can I get some knuckle dusters from, lol

Brands is an excellent track for fence free shooting, you don't even need to get in early and set up shop on qualifying days, loads of space in numerous vantage points.
All mine are from public areas.

I've just looked at your gallery (not bad pics, BTW) and have noticed that you've taken some pics from the inside of Druids! There aren't many better fence-free places in the country to take photos from IMO, especially if you haven't got a particularly long lens. As I said on another thread, Surtees is also a good place to take shots from without the dreaded metalwork in the foreground.

Look hard and ye shall find!
