I'm a huge fan of my Sigma 10-20. I may be wrong but I think Martin (v6gto) has one of these, and posts some great pics from it. Or is it a 12-24 he's got?

Or you could go crazy and get the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye, we've seen some fantastic photos from that lens posted here by fergusd.

Depends if you want wide angle without the extreme distortion of a fisheye, or you want the crazy effects!

edit: with the sigma @ 10mm

Depends how you use the fisheye . . . you can use it for it's distortion (which I like sometimes) or you can work it into the picture more subtly . . .

Were both taken with the 10.5 and are quite non fisheye . . .

A non fisheye lens is probably of more general use of course . . . I've been playing with a 12-24 over the last few weeks and that or the sigma 10-20 would be my general purpose choice . . .

Heres some 10mm shots from my sigma:

Inside:

Sculpture (this is actualy a cone and the top is about twice as wide as it appears)

work:

chess:

Not pin sharp in the corners, most I've heard have a softer side towards the edge - I;m happy with it, the tokina is better but only 12mm. The canon 10-22 is a cracker but more cash and wont fit a nikon

Great pic! If that's taken with a wide angle lens how close actually were you to the bike?!

I've only been back from the Lake District for a couple of hours where I took loads with my new Sigma 10-20mm that I'll be sorting through in a moment. I think it's a fab lens. Will post some of the results later.
