this month theme is :

Focus/ Depth of field.

Objects near and far, in and out of focus. An image that absorbs you into the shot.

Deadline is midnight Thursday 29th June. I ‘ll announce the winner on the Friday 30th.
Fire away.

Not quite as contrasting as I'd hoped, but not bad...

This is a tricky one for me, my little canon compact only has autofocus! So it focses on what it likes. I had a bit of a go by using macro, but its not very brill.

What do you all think? Feel free to be harsh.

Don't have anything really suitable at the moment, will have to get snapping.

These are the closest I have at the moment

Same here, mine has manual focus but not enough f-stops to change depth of field satisfactorily

Well then you must just be naturally talented at it because I spent a bloody fortune on a DSLR and out of god knows how many shots I've taken with it none of them are as good as the stuff you post up here

Crickey, I barely ever go above F11, I've got hundreds of these buggers. OK, car related, photography related and connected with another forum member:

Look at some of the shots that matt (gravy whatever he is this week) took with his old sony cybershot. Only recently got a proper DSLR.

If you set out expecting to take crap photos and be limited by your equipment then you'll succeed on both counts. My mate consitently takes far better photos with disposable cameras than i do with £1k of kit.

Only a Sony point & shoot for me but you can still get creative with it!
