Just a bit of advice needed.

whats the best way to do this? I have taken the pictures but they are too big to have on the site.

Now I need to resize them - when doing this in PS I loose alot of the quailty. Is there a way to do it without them looking crap?

Has anyone had any experience with pictures of products for websites?

Am awaiting your replys - (have just got the images to upload so can't do anything else untill I sot this out!!!)

Resize the original once to the desired size, then choose "save for web" and set quality to around 70ish. Your pics should be nice as small, and should also look fine.

Not sure what you're doing wrong, or whether that helps...

Have you sharpened the images after you have downsized them ? If not then do so and you'll notice a considerable difference. If you are using unsharp mask try Amount 120%, Radius 0.8 pixels and Threshold 7 levels as a starting point and work from there. You'll get much better results if you use Smart Sharpen in CS2 but it takes a lot more fiddling.

I could only imagine that you were trying to save a photoshop (or elements file) down, without "saving to web" trying to get the file to an acceptable file size for web use.

Wasnt sure what wasnt looking right and why, so suggested you use the "save for web" option.
