Yes, I know it's a bit early for the trip to France, but here are a couple from the 24 hour slot race at Pinewood, near Reading over the weekend.

Cars used battery-powered LED's front(white) and rear (red) - one also carried a blue ID light. The green lights are single LEDs on the drivers' throttles.
.
The shots were taken in total darkness f11 for 15 secs at 1600 ASA. The cars do 3-4 laps of the track in that time.
Cheers, Rob

Agreed! Could have some fun experiementing with different angles etc on that track. Wonder if there are any real racetracks where a similar overall result could be obtained (i don't know my racetracks at all btw )

Brilliant fun. In true Le Mans style the race started at 3pm Saturday with 6 teams of four drivers per team attempting to get their car to the finish 24 hurs later with regular pitstops for tyre changes and other various breakages. Driving for 8 hours in total darkness was amazing. All six teams finished the race with the winning car completing over 15200 laps which is approx 350 miles, an average speed of about 15 mph. With practice followed by scutineering and qualifying before the race started meant staying awake for nearly 30 hours, not something I would reccommend. One young driver found it all to much!

4 second laps sound pretty amazing. No marshalls to put the cars back if they fall off. Or are they wearing black?

"When I were a lad ..." I had a few slot cars for a while, one of which was fitted with a Lotus Cortina (Mk1) body for which I produced some working brake lights. Which I though was pretty cool at the time. Well, not so much cool back then as groovy. But the intention of the word was similar.

Of course dangerous chemicals were used so I doubt the same method would be so readily possible these days.

Nice shots BTW.
