Lake District photo's.....
Discussion
My laptop is up and running again I'm finally able to post some pic's from my week in the Lake District!
They were taken in RAW, converted to JPEG in RAW Shooter Essentials and dust spots removed / borders added / shrunk for the web in Photoshop. This is the first full set of shots I've taken in RAW and will probably never take another JPEG again, unless I'm squeezed for memory space in the camera!
Any ideas for future improvement with the original shots or other Photoshop trickery tips to help these pic's along will be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks, Longers

WOW.
I love the lake shots.
You should sign up to Bigstockphoto and/or Dreamstime and sell some of those(if you already haven't.)

Some excellent composition in there - particularly the small rocks in no. 3, were they heavy for you to lift into position ?
Hang on a minute, just had another look at the last shot, I'm sure the lake isn't supposed to lean to the left like that.

I'm am very happy when I get kind comments like the above - I dunno how I'd feel if someone wanted to actually buy a pic from me. I'll have to look into it....
It wasn't that the rocks were heavy that was the problem, it was waiting ages for the ripples to go away
I'd prefer if it the top right rock wasn't quite so dark but I still love that pic and have ordered a large print to hang on the wall.

Excellent work. Love number 4 - (looking towards Honister).
You should put them up on a pro gallery at www.photobox.co.uk and make some dosh (to pay for all that beer you drank)

If I could make that much I'd quit project management this afternoon!!
Stunning, looks like a lovely location to shoot! Was hoping to head up that way this summer, have to see what happens!
If you don't mind me asking, how do you do the black borders? Did you create an action in Photoshop? I'm looking for actions to do this but all I can find is fancy frames that are too arty farty for me!! I just want a simple black or white border with space to add a title and name.

All I did with the above was Select > all, then Edit > stroke, and select colour & size (above were 55px).
Next time I'll use the method below cos doing it the way I've done it actually puts the border over the edge of the photo, rather than around it (I think!)
