I have a 20D, and I took a few pictures in raw on it. I can see them when I look through the pictures I've taken on the camera itself, but as soon as I connect it to my computer there's nothing there at all, apart from the jpegs. Sorry if it's been asked before but I couldn't find anything. Is there something I'm not doing right?

Ok, I got rawshooter now.

But I still can't find, or transfer the RAW files from my camera onto my computer. My computer is telling me there are no files on my camera at all.

ZoomBrowser, which comes with the camera, should take care of the transfers.

Zoombrowser just closes itself down after a few seconds for me.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I uninstalled Canon Camera Window not long ago because I was trying to uninstall my Canon A85 stuff. Now, I can't seem to get it back with the 20D software. Also, when I go into the camera through Windows Explorer the raw files don't show up there either..

Get a card reader.

The Canon software is as flaky as a leper with sunburn

just double checking that you actually changed the settings for the mode you were shooting in to create RAW images as well as JPG.

From the menu, Select Quality then select the recording format you require. You'll need to go to the right hand column to shoot both RAW+L

Me thinks this is what you've done..

It only works in creative zone modes - not in basic point and shoot modes..

I mostly shoot in AV mode, and I set the quality to just RAW on purpose. When I press the playback button on the camera, the two pictures I took in this mode show up as normal. And when I press the INFO. button it has a little 'RAW' logo thing at the bottom, under the histogram, and the date, etc. But when I connect my camera to my computer it's as if there's nothing there..

Get a compact flash card reader and connect that to the PC, you can get them for about £7 from various online retailers such as mymemory.co.uk

This avoids needing all that horrible proprietary Canon software.
