Does anyone know how to perfom a hard reset on a canon d60?
I was given the camera from a photographer friend as it will not power up properly no matter what lense, CF card, battery combo we put in it.

All I get on the top display is 100, 150 ad a full battery indicator.

If I have a cf card with a firmware update on it then I can apply the upgrade but then I get nothing on the back screen.

I have tried the menu button for 8 seconds but that does not change anything.

I think there is a way to do a hard reset by holding a button in when powering the camera on but I don't know what it is (I've tried taking the batteries out for a bit).

Anyone got any bright ideas?

Thanks

Have you tried taking the lithium battery out of the base for ten minutes? I'm sure I've got a D60 manual around here somewhere, I'll see if I can hunt it out

You can download the manual from the Canon web site

Thanks for those. Both batteries have been out for most of the evening. I have reflashed the firmware, taken the back of and reseated every connection I can find, still no joy.

I'll give a repair co a call tomorrow and see what they'll charge to look at it.

Any more ideas?

Thanks
