In a brief statement Adobe has announced that it has purchased the 'technology assets' of Pixmantec, the Danish company behind the RawShooter raw workflow and conversion application. Adobe states that this acquisition "strengthens Adobe's leadership position in raw processing" and that that Pixmantec's raw processing technology will be integrated into Lightroom and other Adobe products. RawShooter Premium will be discontinued although the Essential edition will continue to be available and support for existing RawShooter customers will be available from Adobe.

Shame - I am really happy working with RAWshooter...

...now it looks to be all Adobe-ified. Can't believe that's going to be such good value for money!

Talking about raw. I recently bought a kodak p880 and it says it has RAW format. I can't open it in Photoshop and it seems to be kodaks version of RAW, what a con!

If Lightroom ends up costing more than £57.51, then - B*ST*RDS!

If it doesn't, then - we'll see...

Do you need an update? Do Adobe publish which RAW files are now supported?

This link to Adobe suggests that the P880 is supported?

It'll probably turn into bloatware, and expensive bloatware at that . . . great shame . . .

Still, unless you buy a new camera that isn't supported by the current version . . . no need to be overly concerned . . .

All RAW formats are maker specific I beleive, its literaly how it grabs the image of the sensor (and packages the raw data). PS raw plugin can be updated if it works for your camera, I have PS CS1 so it doesnt do my 350d raw images, I use RSE, so I'm miffed at Adobe doing thins.
