Ok people here we go

Hopefully this theme will get you shooting something a little different. Looking at things in another light. Observing things you wouldn't normally maybe. The things that make up the bigger picture. It's the little things that count.

July theme is Detail

I'm not looking for perfect macro shots really, or anything that's "set-up" . Just go out and have a good look around.
If you have a look at the picture that got me here you'll get the idea.

Winner gets a small prize.
Good luck everyone.

Deadline midnight 30th July
(image sizes to no greater than 750 pixels height or width and 72DPI)

ps can someone sticky this :/

I'm finding 'detail' a hard subject to get my head round as it is so encompassing, so I put this one up and see what the reaction is.

I've not been on these forums long, and it seems these threads are both a competition and a learning process. I for one get alot out of seeing other peoples ideas.

As there is a great mixture of experience on here I'm going to suggest something. Now feel free to stop me in my tracks, not wanting to upset anyone etc...

this months theme has made a few people think already and that's a good thing in itself, but what I propose is to post a pointer. A image that I have highlighted areas of that I would consider shooting for a theme "detail"

Is this a bad ideas? would people rather I didn't ? I just think if it makes people go "ahhhh right....." and get out shooting.. the better.

like I said only a suggestion... I'll leave it a while to see what peoples reactions are.

don't stone me

oh and this is in no way suggestiong the pics posted already are not what I'm after...

It would help in some ways, the last title was, for me, a bit confusing as to what to look for....but in other ways by not giving pointers it gets the creative juices flowing in ways the title originator may not have thought and often you get fantastic photos and unrestricted thoughts flowing which hopefully turn into suitable images. To my mind if a pointer was given it may create a slight subconsious bias onthe thought process which would be a hinderance.

so i would suggest a no.
