Readers Digest Survey
Discussion
I Quote:-
"Canon most trusted camera brand in Europe
Canon has been named most trusted brand for cameras for the sixth consecutive year in the Readers Digest European Trusted Brands Survey 2006. This is one of the broadest pan-European surveys of consumer attitudes towards brands.
Readers Digest asked over 25,000 of its readers in 14 European countries to nominate the brand they trusted most in a range of consumer categories, including cameras. Over 317,000 votes were cast across the product categories with over 112,000 different brands nominated.
Canon was one of only five brands that were nominated as ˜most trusted" in 10 or more countries. In addition, in every country respondents gave Canon a higher than average score for quality, a factor that is significant as the most important criteria for trust across the 14 countries was ‘high quality.
The countries in which Canon was nominated as most trusted brand in 2006 were Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland and the UK. Brands leading other categories included globally recognised names like Nokia (mobile phones), Nivea (skincare) and Visa (credit cards).
In further recognition of the power of the Canon brand, in 2005 Canon was named in the top 10 in the Interbrand Annual Survey of the Worlds Most Valuable Brands."

"most trusted"
So they make cameras, right?
....and you trust that they make cameras, right?
So they're "most trusted"
So - let's say Pentax couldn't win it because you can't trust that they will make cameras? Next week they may make, say, a space rocket?
And Nikon - well they couldn't be "most trusted" because, well next week they might make a garden swing, right?
Ergo Canon are "most trusted". Right. I see. OK. That makes sense then.......
