Anyone any idea how much canon charge to replace the front element on L lenses?

I believe the front element of many of the L lenses is actually a plain protective glass, so it doesn't cost too much. Authorised repairers have a special tool to remove it. I've read somewhere that it's about $100-150 for 77mm lens (But I'm not 100% sure if that's correct or not). But I have no idea how much it would be in the UK. Which lens are you talking about?

its a 300 2.8L .. others suggested about 200 as well.

It's the non IS.. so not really sure what a good price would be .. it would be great for motorsport stuff I want to do more of :-)
