Swine

I was all set to upgrade and had to put expenditures on hold to do up my flat to aid its sale.

Next year I'm treating myself to a 1D..I promise

Enjoy it

With the cashback it was only £500 more than what I paid for my 300d two years ago.

Bought it from Park Cameras www.parkcameras.com/ - £1500 when you add in the discount I got on the cards etc. and the cashback, and they were really helpful to boot!

should have bought two

exactly the same conversation i had with myself, it's only X more than the old one and if I sell my leg/frontal lobe/kidney off to medical science it's basically paying for itself etc.

Worth every penny I say!

by the way joust, real men buy the 85mm f/1.2 canon prime, the 50mm in the picture is for wimps.

PS As a Nikon owner I am of course automatically a real man.

edited cos i clearly know f-all about canon lenses!

I find them much more fun and challenging. Although my "walkaround" lens is the 24-105 IS L, I've got a Sigma 105mm macro that I use a lot just as a regular lens and my 400mm L is on the camera permanently for the flying displays at airshows (only switch back to the 24-105 for static stuff).

Good choice Sir, I had a play on a friends the other day and must agree with you about the view! Awesome. However my friend had not noticed that a good few of his "digital" lenses wont work on it! OOOpsie!
