I've been building another screen saver to flog (mostly to those nice people from America) and came across a few that time had forgot. Well I had anyway. Thought I'd share them.

Mostly taken with the D1 in 2000/2001. There are a few blown highlights but I won't tell if you don't. D2X metering is MUCH better!

OK, not bad but here are some tips for when you move on to proper photography.

First one - it you are going to photoshop the sky in at least get one that looks right.

Second one - I used to like painting by numbers too but can't see the point of making it into a snapshot afterwards.

Third - No gulls are ever that white

Fourth - always better to try to remove mould before scanning an old painting.

Fifth - very bad fading in the upper sections and nothing is ever that green - I assume you were using Fuji media? Personally I would not have bothered unless you could make something of the boat in the middle of the shot with a heavy crop. You may need to photoshop out the red mark though.

Hope this helps. Keep trying and make sure you keep your prints somewhere dry and fungus free.

Dear Q

Such helpful advice! Thanks... can I make some sort of donation to a charity of your choice?

I'll start working on that red mark immediately.
