Had a trip up Glencoe way yesterday, heres some pics. Not that happy with them, some were ok.

This one I had to photoshop a bit, its had a sky filter on it, original sky looked dull.

F20, 1/60sec, 50mm

This one, i like but its a bit dull again!

F22, 1/40sec, 28mm

A church. Think i should have exposed for the building in this one? its came out a bit dark, but the sun was in front of me so thats probably why!

F22, 1/60sec, 28mm

And to keep it car related:

F9, 1/320sec, 28mm

F18, 1/100sec, 40mm

Tried to photoshop this one as well, I like the picture but find it a bit dark again. Suggestions?

Constructive critisicm more than welcome, do people use the landscape setting on the camera when shooting landscapes? does it make a big difference.

I liked this one:

It seems to me better pre-PS. Giving it a reddish/yellowish tint makes it unrealistic given the reflected sun's angle... Even though I normally like that tint, it looks too artificial in this case, and the colors in the original came out nicely.

My eyes might be going funny but all of them save the Church one look wonky. Tilted to the left somewhat.

I'm with imperialism on the PS'd version of the car. Prefer the first one. Also, your shots are wonky!

Just a thought - if you have PS have you tried playing with the curves feature to adjust the shots? That said, I quite like the first and second ones although there seems to be a bit more cloud than on Saturday??

this was my view of Glencoe on Saturday [pic] www.pbase.com/angusmac/image/63591052.jpg [pic]

take the spaces out between the two pic tags and the url and also put / before "pic" in the last one.

Taken on Sunday (not Saturday), I put in Yesterday into post because I posted it early Monday morning. It is stunning up there, the scale of the mountains is amazing. I'm going to have to go further up north when I have the time.

I never even noticed they were wonky, will fix that in PS. All my shots are like that!! I must naturaly hold the camera tilted, will have to watch for this in future lol.

mcgus - if you want to embed pics you have to put the "http://" part in the address as well.

Glencoe really is a great place for a drive/walk/beers/camp/drive.

No 2 must have been taken from almost the same point as this but, a slightly different angle.

Do you have a UV filter, sstein ? If not, invest in one. It would cut away some of the haze.
And learn how to level your horizons !

Those pics were taken with a skylight filter on. I take it this is not a UV filter? I also have a polarizer filter.

Skylight filters are slightly pink. UV filters filter only the UV light.

I personally find that Skylight filters make adjusting the colour balance of digital images difficult.

I also like using the "Auto Levels" tool in PS to cut through haze...
