Fedex will cost you a tenner, vs a stamp/envelope/matchbox with holes in it. Alas, Im in an appartment, and dont have a garden, Ive even got to send off for ants to put in my ant farm ant farm was a gift btw

Great critters to shoot. He was quite a bigun.

I regret stopping down to F10 - shutter speed (series of about 8 pics) was around 200-250. I wasnt too pleased to find that 6 of the 8 pics were too blurry to keep. Its all part of a learning curve. With the wind (plus camera was hand held with one hand) I probably could have used a 400/s shutter speed, for better results.

Thanks dobbo.

Do you think the blur at the end of the grass stalk is due to wind, or aperture?

Hard to get an idea of perspective. At f/10 I'd be inclined to say it isn't due to aperture but I'm not really an expert by any means!

here ya go.. shot em with the 24-70 set to macro in the focus distance meter.. whatever that does.. didn't think it was?

any idea how to treat the things? leave em alone?.. about 30 of them on the plant :/

Funny thing was when I went round one side to shoot.. it did this! moved round the opposite side... camera shy bugz :0

eventually got one

and this is the left overs

Nice bugs flameop. Dont worry about fedexing them over Im sure I'll stumble upon a big black bug oneday. Hopefully this summer if Im lucky. The first pic would look nice as a 50% (top area) crop.

Thanks. Found it quite hard as they are constantly roaming about only 3 left this morning now.
