Circular Polariser? An idiots guide anyone?

[prelude4ws]

Title says’s it all really. Does anyone have/know of/can write an idiots (and I mean 25mph everywhere type of numpty!!) guide to using one and getting the best out of it?

There have been a lot of threads lately about filters and their merits, but I thought it may be useful to find out how to use them properly, mostly 'cos I haven’t the faintest idea!!
