So I bought a 350d...
Discussion
After much pondering I went for a 350d, got a great deal from the canon outlet on the body, the 18-55mm and 55-200 USM lens and a battery grip.
First few shots (pretty much on auto) have confirmed that it does give me the depth and quality I was look for, and RAW processing seems to be very handy.
I just need to finish reading the book and refresh myself with the manual stuff. Are there any online tutorials anyone can recommend?
One thing I did realise when playing with it last night is how much easier it is to learn what the different settings do with a digital, in the olden days when I first had my EOS 650 by the time I'd got the negs back I had forgotten what setting s I had it on when I took the picture
I had a lot of help from the threads on here so thanks people, I appreciate being able to lurk.

its a downhill slope, you'll be buying alsorts of stuff now lol
Well I need a new bag (lowepro have a super looking slingback thing), and I will get a flash, and a couple of battries for the grip (2 for £10) and of course a bigger compactflash card. I wonder if I still have my old tripod, and a bigger zoom might come in handy as would a wide angle, and I always like a fisheye...
Handy that I have a birthday next month

Battery grip, flash, extra cards, portable storage, macro rings, filters, tripod, monopods, lenses....
models studio lol
Funny enough I'm trying to buy a building with a huge studio in it, if we get it (which I doubt) then I'll have a little play before we rip it apart.

That's odd, on a 350D, the shutter button is about at the base of my index finger... Just like how I can press all 5 directional pad buttons at the same time with my thumb...
