any lower sun and would have been thunderbirds shot! :-)

I'd pull the levels/shadows down a touch more. Possibly get the entire building in shot and cropped later if need be. You can always clown the top stuff out to make it look like the top is in shot.

Wouldn't have had it dead centre.

Maybe a tighter crop.. to the right/left.. moving church to left;/right.Then crop top loosing top 1/3rd of frame.

Just what I'd do though..

If you don't get it I'll show you.. don't want to mess with photo without permission ;-)

No worries 'mess' away Si.....in my defence I was under the influence of a fine bottle of the hotels Champagne and all I had to hand was a Canon Powershot..and I was hanging out of the hotel window! I'll look forward to the alterations.

Composition was the only thing that was bugging me about the original shot. Improvement?

Phew - it's a nice shot - from the bird on the horizon, through to the detail round the silhouete. Personally, I'd like a bit of detail in the shadow area, just because it's a good guess that there's an interesting detail there. But, to be fair you'll only get that by blending two different exposures.

There's loads you could do - I quite like Gemm's crop; personally I also think the colour's a bit lacking - not enough warmth, perhaps. I'd be inclined to do this - but I recognise that it's probably not what the scene looked like....

Very nice, TON70. Hopefully this picture will inspire you to take more pictures and post them here for us But first you might want to take a look at this: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=293419&f=109&h=0

I think I like Gemm's variation the best, as there isn't much that could have been done to improve the original with only one exposure. While I'm always for more color, it just seems overdone in the other variations...

Edited to compensate for my inability to format URLs...
